Buffaloes, giraffes and even elephants can be seen only a few meters from the main house in the garden, because of the direct border to the National Park. The owner has seen many times a leopard crossing his garden! The green grass on the photograph still belongs to "Arusha Hatari" and the following bush vegetation is part of the National Park. |

4566 meters above sea level, Mount Meru is still 1329 meters lower than the Kilimanjaro with its 5895 meters. It it is the second highest mountain of the country and much more difficult to climb than its big sister. Temporary snow can be viewed from time to time. |

The roof of the main house is sheathed in traditional banana leaves and acts as an effective insulation against heat and cold. Living and dining areas are open plan. Traditionally the kitchen is kept seperately from the main house. |

In the evening or early morning is in gerneral the best time to view Mount Kilimandjaro as well as the Masai plains in the South. A bit northwards on the left hand side of this panorama picture is the famous Ngurudoto crater. This is one of the main tourist attractions in the area. |
