REEF

resort

Hidden in between the tall palms the skipper approaching the mainland recognizes hardly the spacious resort. Privacy and the preservation of the beauty of nature are most important for the managment!

No place for claustrophobia - this is the first remote and attractive sandy beach hotel on the Northern coastline of the country about 30 South of Tanga. Although the beach seems to be isolated, the very high occupancy rate of the resort during the high season makes the spot anything else than lonely. Whoever will take this unique opportunity to make money in paradise has to know know that he or she will be pretty busy due to the private and commercial overland travellers.

Going North or South along the coast, you travel along a well maintained and regularly upgraded gravel road. To Tanga which is the next bigger town it will take less than one hour drive.

The access road is along the main road from Tanga to Pangani. After a 300 meter drive through coastal bush you get to the picturesque entrance of the hotel compound of "Reef resort" - karibu!

At the first glance every visitor will recognize the beauty of the lush and dense vegetation of the property. This photograph was taken from top of the resort's water tank which stands nearby the sweet water well.

180 meter beach frontage: A couple of sun shades provide comfort while relaxing on hand woven local chairs and beach couches.  The counter under the shade on the left is the beach bar which is part in the swimming pool area and ensures that you will get your refreshments served while enjoying the beach or hanging around the pool.

Well placed in between the coconut palms, but free of danger of falling coconuts, the 8 cottages offer a good time for a maximum of 32 guests.

A steep cantilever palm-thatched roof provides a cool and fresh climate in the cottages This picture shows the back with two bathroom windows of the chalet.

Local material decorates the inside and outside.  Due to the rustic and well ventilated nature of the buildings, treated mosquito nets are essential.  The family cottages consist of two rooms  in which up to 5-6 people can sleep.

Each cottage has its own bathroom. Even there woven palm leaves are used in order to keep the traditional style.

Behind the beach chalets a huge part of the property is lying idle. This chunk of land offers the opportunity for further constructions or for a big sport ground if not for planting vegetables.

The campsite of the resort is hidden in between the palms. Each of the 12 camping facilities has a shade with light and elecrical plugs.Campers can come with their own tents or can even rent one of the resort.

.

2 shower blocks which have each 3 hand washing basins, shower cabins and toilets are serving the needs of the campers. Hot water is provided and the water pressure is excellent due to the heights of the water tank

Nestled in between a secure and harmonious neighborhood; the 180 meter ocean frontage of the 'Reef resort' has an excellent relationship with the villagers.

Most of the staff lives in the local village, however, there are 13 large rooms for the use of the staff who lives and worksin the compound.

Delicous continental food, chosen from an à la carte menu, is prepared and cooked in the large airy kitchen. MyBeach team has appreciated the meals during a two day stay.  The kitchen is fully equipped to serve up to 70 restaurant guests with what their hearts desire!

Fully convenient is the owner's residence with a good view of the sea from its large veranda.  Adjoining this airy open residence is the personal en suite guest cottage of the owners; offering additonal space for for 2-3 guests.

Although the manager house is slightly situated in the interior, the sea can still be seen!

Activities are many:  snorkelling, fishing or just the fun of sailing with the resort's own local 11 meter dhow.  There is game watching in nearby Saadani National Park, shopping in Tanga and historical excursions to nearby Pangani town, Amboni Caves and Tongoni Ruins. Who is not afraid of local sea transport, can even cross over to Pemba or Zanzibar!

Before you go to explore the surroundings you should relax on the beach under the palms and let the time pass till the sun has lost a bit of its strengths. The well trained staff will take care of you wherever you are in order to provide you a convenient and comfortable stay with very competitive prices. They will also assist you in exercising one of the different maritime sports like kiting, surfing, kayaks, fishing, snorkeling and much more.

Reachable by public transport via Tanga or even Pangani this location remains accessable for everybody with or without a car. You can also fly with charter plane  directly to the Tanga airport. Private planes are also landing on the airstrip South of the Pangani estuary. Most convenient as well as interesting is still the trip by 4x4 via the Sadaani National Park!

Certainly a great job what the expatriate owner has built up during the last 9 years. MyBeach appreciates what the owner has achieved and enojoyed the marvellous stay in the resort. We hope that the new owner will also recognizes and appreciate this achievements, because every beginning is difficult! Please let us know when we can introduce you to this private business opportunity along the sandy beach of Pangani!
